The New Orleans Educational Telecommunications Consortium (NOETC) identifies and fosters methods by which its member institutions acquire and utilize the emerging technologies pursuant to each member’s academic mission. NOETC facilitates the research, development, funding, and effective implementation of these technologies to support technology-enhanced instruction and related activities.
The New Orleans Educational Telecommunications Consortium (NOETC) was formed in 1980 and incorporated in 1982 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity. Founding institutions included Dillard University, Loyola University New Orleans, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Our Lady of Holy Cross College, St. Mary’s Dominican College, Southern University at New Orleans, Tulane University, and Xavier University. The Consortium’s initial focus was post-secondary institutions’ programming the New Orleans higher education access cable channel. In recent years the organization’s mission has expanded with the technology available for the non-traditional learning experience.
